Orleans/Jefferson Parish Uncontested Divorce Lawyer
You do not have to spend thousands of dollars on your divorce and you do not have to try to do it alone.
Most uncontested divorces can be obtained without anyone even having to ever set foot in a courtroom. If you and your former spouse are in agreement about the major issues, then an inexpensive divorce with an experienced family law attorney is right for you.
If you qualify, your divorce can be completed quickly for a low flat fee. If you are looking for just a divorce, when there is no property to be divided, no support or other issues, you can pay as little as $399 for your legal fee.
Your matter may qualify for a flat fee if your case is "uncontested". An uncontested divorce is a divorce in which you and your spouse have been living separate and apart for the amount of time required by law, your spouse signs a waiver of service, no court appearance is required, and the judgment of divorce is obtained by default.
If you and your spouse have other issues to resolve, it is possible to draft the necessary settlement documents, called a Consent Judgment, for a flat fee as well. This gives you control over the amount of money you wish to spend on your divorce and keeps you from taking off time from work to attend Court hearings. A Consent Judgment can be drafted to address:
- Child Custody and Support
- Spousal Support
- Community Property Issues
- Division of Debts
Although the fee is reduced, you still receive full legal services from an experienced attorney-not a paralegal.
